Nokia, Yunnan Mobile Ink US$63mln GSM Contract

Finnish Nokia announced on September 5 that it has signed a US$63 million GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) contract with Yunnan Mobile, which is projected to construct a GSM mobile phone network in Yunnan, China. Under the deal, Nokia will provide network equipment and services including network planning, construction, and all necessary services. Deliveries have begun and the new GSM network is expected to begin operations in November, 2006.
